This training program will include LPIC 1 and 2 in Linux Administrator.
The LPIc Linux Systems Administrator Program
LPIC-1 certification is the first certification in LPI’s multi-level Linux professional certification program. The LPIC-1 certification validates a candidate's ability to install and configure a computer running Linux and configure basic networking. The LPIC 1 certification consists of two exams:
101-500 exam: The 101-500 exam topics are system architecture, Linux installation, and package management; GNU and UNIX command; devices, Linux filesystems, and filesystem Hierarchy Standard.
102-500 exam: The LPIC 102-500 exam topics are shells and shell scripting; interfaces and desktops; administrative tasks, essential system services, and networking fundamentals security.

Education and National Certifications
- Students should have or be pursuing a high school diploma or GED.
- There is a National Certification exam available to students who successfully complete this program:
- Linux Professional Institute LPIC-1 Certification
- Linux Professional Institute LPIC-2 Certification
National Certification
Students who complete the Texas A&M University - Texarkana LPI Linux Systems Administrator program will be prepared to sit for the LPIC-1: Linux Administrator (101 and 102 exams) national certification exam(s). In order to work as a LPI Linux Systems Administrator, many states nationwide are requiring that learners achieve national certification prior to working in that state. Students who complete this program are encouraged to complete the practical/clinical externship option with their program. This comprehensive program is designed to prepare students to sit for LPIC-1: Linux Administrator (101 and102 exams) exam(s). Students who complete this program can and do sit for the LPIC-1: Linux Administrator (101 and 102 exams) national certification exam(s) and are qualified, eligible and prepared to do so.
